Domain

The HMM model downloaded from the Pfam database was used to identify family members using the PfamScan software.
A protein molecule transcribed from a gene can contain several structurally specific and functionally distinct regions, which are called domains. The domain can be considered as the basic unit of protein function, and the function of a protein is determined by the multiple domains it contains. The study of domains allows a better study of protein function, and genes with the same structural domain often form a gene family.
